Two new credit spreads...

There's a few things to catch up on today....

1. I placed a new bull put spread on NOW on the 13th Feb. NOW has been doing very well, and earnings came out which were good, but the market wanted it to be even better, and I believe the sell-off was too strong. They were just recently over $1200/share, and they've dropped to $990. I wrote 10 x 920 / 940 puts. (I sold 10 940s, and bought 10 920s). My risk is $20, and my premium received was $5.30. All up I took in $5.3k usd. This trade is set to expire in March, and I'll be looking to close out around 2 weeks before expiry, so I'll give a little premium back.

2. I placed another bull put spread, this time on ASML, just today - 19th Feb. To be honest, I was just going to write some puts, but it turned out that I could place a wide spread that still gave me the vast majority of the premium that I would've received, but by buying the protective puts, I've saved myself some buying power in the event that there's something else I like while this trade is on. I wrote 4 x 620 / 720 puts (I sold the 720s and bought the 620s). My risk is $100, and my premium received was $23.80. I took in $9.5k usd on this one. It's a longer trade with an April expiry, but I'll be looking to exit early if the spread drops in value significantly, so I'll likely give a bit of that back.

3. With those two trades, I've passed a milestone.... I have tracked my earnings for 2 years, and have currently made more trading during these two years than the yacht has cost me for 5 years. So I really have been writing options so that I can keep sailing, as my homepage says! I'm focusing on consistent repeateable results now, as I will continue this into the future.

4. I'm not sure I'll keep this website, I track all my trades in detail on a spreadsheet which allows me to do some good analysis. This was just a journaling tool, and I thought it might be a bit fun too, but I get a lot of annoying messages "your website could be better, we'll help you make money...". Umm, yeah this site is not making me anything, and it was never intended to do so.... I'm making money by trading so I'm not enjoying the nuisance advertising messages coming through.
